What chair do you recommend for the custom standing desk?
It’s useful to have a chair handy for times where you simply want to take a break - especially if this is your first standing desk. It can take a while to get used to standing up for long periods of time.
Everyone has different needs, so we can’t recommend any chair in particular. However, we do think that any tall, adjustable, drafting table style chair will work great. The best thing to do is to try one out in person instead of getting one online.
Here are a few things to look for in a chair:
Adjustable seat height. You will want the chair to be tall enough so that your elbows can be higher than the tabletop or keyboard tray. Your wrists should point slightly downward.
Forward and backward tilt
Lumbar support
Adjustable backrest
If you plan on sitting for a good part of the day, armrests and a chair made of breathable fabric will also be ideal. Hope that helps!
